Wally Hoskins’ Answered Prayer
During a Daniel fast with my church family, The House of Prayer Word Outreach Church of Dallas, TX (HOPWOC), I prayed for a Proverbs 31 Wife. As Proverbs says, “he that finds a wife finds a GOOD THING and finds favor with the Lord!” I had been seeking a wife through an online dating app and was unsuccessful! Just after the fast, I decided to close the app down and saw Ms. Raquel Dixon, who had “waved”, so I “waved” back, and we started communicating through the app until I asked Ms. Raquel for her telephone number. We began to talk more on the phone, and weeks later, I asked Raquel when we could meet in person. Raquel answered and said, “How about now?” I agreed and called my cousin Iola to let her know I met a lady, and she wanted me to see her right then! Iola suggested I go just as I was when I finished working on my car, as Raquel would eventually have to see me dirty anyway. “You’ll see if she sees you for who you are!” When I finished, I left Dallas for Fort Worth immediately! Raquel & I talked until I arrived at our agreed upon location in Fort Worth! When Raquel emerged from the car and adjusted her pink dress…it was, “WOW! My God!” “Thank You!!” “This is my wife?” “Thank You, Lord,” I said.
Confirmation
Raquel greets and hugs me, and The Holy Spirit confirms her to me in our embrace! We talked more, and Ms. Raquel asked me to attend an event with her once her grandchildren arrived. They arrived, and there was more confirmation for me as they took to me as if they had known me all their lives. They were well-mannered children shaking hands and holding conversations with me. We leave for the helicopter drop of Easter eggs and go to Dunbar High School football field. My new friend Raquel continues to show care with her grandchildren and me, holding me as we walk and talk more.
I received an emergency phone call where the caller needed me to come to her, and Raquel urged me to go and make myself available to the caller because she needed me right then! Raquel and I discussed our lives together as I drove back to Dallas. I expressed to her how this relationship was different from my dating sprees in the past before I was Saved! I explained my desire with her is to hold her, caress her, plan my life out with her, and always discover more about Christ with her! I explained to Raquel that she would have to meet my Pastor, Dr. Parker, before our relationship progressed. She agreed and traveled to Dallas to meet Dr. Parker, and he believed that Raquel was the “Good Thing” I kept telling him about!
Raquel introduced me to her Pastor, Dr. Downs, and he recommended counseling, so we instantly agreed upon Dr. Parker since he would be our Pastor. We were introduced to Christian counseling with a book, “Before I Say I Do.” We were blessed by The Parkers, the House of Prayer (HOP) Staff, Restoration Outreach Dallas (ROD) Ministries and, with the most exquisitely decorated Sanctuary fit for a King!
My wife, Raquel, and I are firm believers that through our devotion time seeking God, He heard and answered our prayers as “He’s been the 4th man in the fire time after time” because of our faith and hope in Him for a better tomorrow!
God’s Plans for Our Future
As I think of my goals in life, I plan to continue my employment with Cole Industries of Garland, Texas, pursue options of becoming a business owner and a hot shot driver. As I travel from location to location, picking up and delivering goods, I will spread the Lord’s Word around, telling others how God has delivered me and how He can deliver anyone! As the business flourishes, I plan to give back by hiring others transitioning in life! I will pour into others as it has been poured into me!
My wife and I especially thank the members and supporters of The House of Prayer Word Outreach Church, the Founders, Directors, Staff of ROD Ministries, and my brothers of the Ferguson, Exline, and Silkwood Houses. Malanda Hopkins (of Balloon Junkie Decorations) and her team of decorators, Mother Andrea Parker and the (Diamonds in the Rough Ministries) Culinary Team, along with Adrienne with (JJ sweet treats) the delicious cake treats, all members of the media ministry and family and friends who love and pray for us…
